26 June 2020, at approximately 19H00, a man, aged 50 and his 82-year-old mother were at home on their farm in the Free State province of South Africa when their electricity tripped.
The man went out with the intention of resetting the plugs when he was attacked by three unknown males.
The attackers forced the male victim inside the house and continued to assault him and his mother. Apparently all suspects were not armed.
The attackers tied both the man and his mother up and demanded the keys to the safe. Perpetrators fled the scene on foot with a firearm and 2 cellphones.
Both victims were referred to a local hospital for treatment suffering severe injuries.
No one has been arrested and a case of house robbery has been registered for further investigation.
An incident report from South African Police Services Newsroom.
Marius Müller, national operations coordinator for AfriForum, said the mother and son were both taken to a hospital in Bloemfontein in serious condition after the incident for medical treatment.
