Certain key indicators surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic in South Africa have improved to such an extent that the country has fallen from fifth to seventh place in the world rankings said Health Minister Zweli Mkhize on Friday night.
2,063 new coronavirus infections have been reported in the last 24 hours.
As of Friday the total number of confirmed cases is 635 078.
115 new deaths were reported at the same time, bringing the death toll to 14,678 on Friday.
Fifteen people died in KwaZulu-Natal, 43 in Gauteng, 12 in the Eastern Cape, 18 in the Free State, four in the Western Cape, 11 in the Northern Cape and 12 in Limpopo.
