The Parliament’s expropriation without compensation ad hoc committee on Thursday suddenly accelerated its pace and now hopes to complete its work by 24 November.
According to parliament, the amendment of act 25 of the constitution must be changed to facilitate expropriation without compensation.
The public submissions for Limpopo, the Northern Cape and the Western Cape have yet to be finalized.
Public hearings will take place in every district council and metro in these three provinces by the end of this month.
The next Parliament’s next expropriation without compensation meeting will take place at the committee on Tuesday.
On November 24, the committee will complete its work and refer the bill to the National Assembly for adoption.
