On Thursday, there was a total of five tremors in South Africa. Mahlatse Mononela, National Council for Geosciences spokesperson, says that there is no need to panic.
A tremor with a 2.8 magnitude was perceived In the West Rand, other three near Emalahleni and another near to Odendaalsrus.
Mononela says the tremor was picked up on national instruments, and the West Rand tremor was registered most strongly within a 5Km radius South East of Randfontein.
She also adds that tremors are not unusual, but many were not felt because of the harder ground.
The council affirms that the Cape Town seismic activity was not related to an earthquake at sea Saturday night.
Since the ones felt in Cape Town on Saturday and Sunday, the seismic events list shows several more, and it is now available on their website.
