Two men were arrested on Thursday for the murder of Gerrit Stander (38) after he and his family were attacked early Monday morning on a smallholding in the Plaston area, near White River in Mpumalanga.
Hawks spokesman Lloyd Ramovha said the men, aged 26 and 30, were arrested in Kabokweni near White River that afternoon.
Police seized one cellphone, a tablet and a sewing machine that were stolen from the Standers’ house on Monday. Two cellphones, a television and a laptop were also stolen during the attack.
The men are expected to appear in White River Magistrate’s Court next Monday. Meanwhile, the investigation continues.
