According to reports by IOL, a warrant of arrest has been issued for ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule.
IOL reports that “the National Prosecuting Authority’s warrant of arrest for Magashule comes after a number of high-profile arrests have been made recently.”
According to IOL, sources inside the Hawk’s have confirmed that Magashule was part of a “to be arrested” list.
Edit: The Hawks spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi says to SABC ‘We don’t know of any warrant of arrest’.
IOL reports that Magashule will be arrested for his role in the Vrede Dairy Farm project.
When Ace Magashule was still the Free State premier, he apparently announced out of the blue that he was going to appoint an “advisory council” of which a Gupta follower was a member.
Prior to Magashule’s announcement on the advisory council and plans for a dairy farm, he accompanied the then head of the Free State Department of Agriculture, Peter Thabethe, to India.
Daily Maverick reported in 2019 that Magashule’s direct adviser, Narayan was also allegedly a link in the long chain used to buy probably millions of rands worth of laptops from Sahara Computers, the Gupta company, for scholarship apprentices in the Free State
