4,400 new COIVD-19 cases in South Africa



4,400 new confirmed infections have been reported in the last 24 hours. This brings the total in South Africa to 800 872.

In the same period, 94 people died. The death toll currently stands at 21,8003.

President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier addressed South Africans.

Ramaphosa says without the necessary preventive measures, a second wave was expected in South Africa.

There is now a clear re-emergence of infections in some parts of the country.

There are now cumulatively more than 800 000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in South Africa, with more than 21 800 South Africans having already died from Covid-19.

In the first week of November, an average of 1,500 new cases were reported per day.
