South Africa is not yet part of the more than 70 countries that have officially joined the World Health Organization’s Covid-19 Vaccines Global Access facility (or Covax).
Covax aims to allow more than 150 countries and organizations to develop and access a vaccine against Covid-19, even though some of the participants’ own efforts to develop a vaccine have failed.
