Amidst the national call for South Africans to stand together against violence against women and children, the naked body of a 17-year-old Philippi girl was found in a street.
Police confirmed on Sunday that a man in his 20s was being questioned about her death.
Western Cape Police spokesperson André Traut said the girl’s body was found in Albert Luthuli Street at Browns Farm in Philippi at about 7am on Saturday.
The cause of the girl’s death has not yet been determined.
