The bail application of the three policemen connected with the shooting death of 16-year-old Nathaniel Julies was postponed on Thursday.
Nathaniel, who had Down Syndrome, was shot dead near his parents’ home in Eldorado Park on August 26. He was buried Saturday.
Foster Netshiongolo, Simon Ndyalvane, and Caylene Whiteboy, appeared together for the first time in the Protea Soweto Magistrate’s Court.
Netshiongolo is charged with perjury, illegal possession of ammunition and being an aid worker after Nathaniel’s shooting death. The latter charge was added later.
Ndyalvane and Whiteboy, who are also stationed at the Eldorado Park police station, are charged with murder, unlawful possession of cartridges, defeating the ends of justice, and firing a firearm in public.
The case was adjourned until September 22.
