Ian Cameron, head of community safety at AfriForum, says it is worrying that the government is quiet about farm murders and attacks.
“They almost deny it is happening. Bheki Cele is more concerned about the people who smoke, instead of looking at how we can save lives on farms, ”he says.
The farm murder in Weenen is the third farm murder in South Africa since Friday.
“There have also been at least seven farm attacks, three of which have been reported in KwaZulu-Natal in the last 24 hours. That includes the one in Weenen, ”says Cameron.
SA Updates reported three farm murders since Friday, see below:
- Farm Murder: Pregnant woman murdered on farm, nothing stolen
- Farm Murder: 45-year-old man killed on farm in Western Cape
- Farm murder: “Robbers” left the property then came back to murder
All these farm murders were also reported by Ian Cameron, head of community safety at AfriForum.
