Wynand Breedt, a well-known singer and songwriter in the Western Cape, was shot dead during an attack on a farm in the Nuy Valley between Worcester and Robertson on Friday night.
Police spokesman Noloyiso Rwexana says “A 45-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound to his chest. The motive for the murder is not yet known.”
She says police are investigating a murder but cannot say at this stage whether it was preceded by a farm attack.
“We can’t say yet whether it was a farm attack. Our police file does not show that something was stolen from the house. “
Police are following up clues to find those responsible for his death, she says.
Rwexana said the police investigation is ongoing.
