A total of six people were killed and four people injured during a shooting incident in Khayelitsha in the Western Cape.
Police spokesperson Novela Potelwa said the shooting took place on Wednesday afternoon in Solomon Tshuku Street in Khayelitsha’s Block C.
According to reports by SAPS, the community called out the Khayelitsha police to Solomon Tshuku Street at 16:00. When the officers arrived, the community informed police that yet-to-be-identified shooters fired several shots inside and outside the premises. Six victims died on the scene, while four were wounded and taken to hospital for treatment. The injured are between the ages of 23 and 27.
Police says the motive for the shooting is yet to be determined.
