The Police in Bolobedu in the Mopani District has launched a search for the suspect(s) responsible for the brutal murder of a 21-year-old man and his partner, aged 18, whose bodies were found in their house at ga-Rapitsi Village, Itireleng Section yesterday, the 6th of October in the afternoon.
The man’s employer, who is also his neighbor, reportedly went to the residence at about noon to check on him after failing to report for work. When he arrived, the desperate cries of a baby were met, and when he called, nobody answered. He then entered the house and discovered the couple on the bed in the room and their 12-month-old baby girl near them.
The Police were promptly reached together with the medical emergency staff.
The victims, recognized as Mr. Nius Malatji and Lusia Malapane, were found with various stab injuries and declared dead.
The motivation for the killing is undiscovered at this stage and can only be concluded by police investigations, which are proceeding.
In Limpopo, the Provincial Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, has strongly condemned the cruel way in which the couple was killed, and a team of Investigators led by the District Commissioner Major General Maggie Mathebula is already working vigorously on the case to track down the killer(s).
Police are now offering a reward of up to R200 000 for any knowledge that can lead to the capture and subsequent conviction of the suspect(s) implicated in the murders.
