Police minister, Bheki Cele says one of the suspects arrested for killing 22-year-old farm manager, Brendin Horner has been arrested 16 times in the past. He says he seeks answers as to why a person who has been arrested 16 times is not locked up and is given opportunities to commit further crimes.
Cele addressed the media during a press conference today about more the racial tension running high, after the murder of Horner and the events outside the court in Senekal in the Free State.
Cele has already conducted conversations with the EFF leader Julius Malema, in an attempt to ease the situation. He will talk with the FF Plus leader later he says.
He says police will be in Senekal on Friday, to prevent a recurrence of last week’s events
“People will not be allowed again to bully the state and do the same as last week in Senekal. This can not be allowed.
Cele added that everything possible will be done to preserve the peace in Senekal. “However, anyone who violates the law will have to deal with the full power of the state.”
