The long-awaited parliamentary debate on the occurrence, nature and combating of farm murders will take place in the National Assembly on Tuesday 1 September at 14:00.
The parliamentary program committee decided at its weekly meeting on Thursday morning that the debate will take place on Tuesday.
The debate was requested by DA member of parliament, Dianne Kohler Barnard and will be led by her.
Cyril Ramaphosa will speak to members of parliament about Covid-19 tender fraud today.
He will also answer MPs’ questions about corruption in general in the public service and private sector.
Ramaphosa will speak at a partial virtual session of the National Assembly (NA) at 14:00.
“President Ramaphosa will discuss the progress made towards the scourge of gender-based violence and murder of women, and will also pass on the latest on the measures put in place to combat corruption in the procurement of protective equipment,” reads a statement issued by the presidency was issued.
There are also questions about the state of the country’s financial affairs to ensure that it fulfills its responsibilities with regard to unemployment and poverty alleviation.
