Farm attacks and killings are the main focus in parliament on Tuesday afternoon.
EFF member of parliament, Constance Mkhonto says the debate over farm murders and attacks and white genocide is an extension of the myth that those who stole the land in the country can keep it. The DA is part of the right-wing that supports it.
Mkhonto says there is a crime situation in the country that mostly affects black people. About 58 people are killed in the country every day. There were more than 28,000 cases of stock theft from black small farmers in the rural areas.
There is no justification for any farm murders, but neither is there any justification for the murders of the black people who are murdered across the country on a daily basis the EFF member says.
The debate over farm murders is done in such a way that white people are portrayed as victims and black people as offenders.
All the DA thinks about are white people’s lives. They have no interest in fighting crime nationwide.
Mkhonto says any loss of life in the country is one too many.
“Farmers themselves are not innocent in this country. They have evicted more than 2 million farm workers from their farms since 1994, and many continue to work as slaves on their farms.
“We do not know if there is a connection between farm murders and the way farm workers are treated by farmers.”
