Cyril Ramaphosa will release more information on the coronavirus pandemic tonight.
He will address the country at 7pm after meeting with the National Command Council on Monday and Tuesday, and speaking with the cabinet today.
It is widely speculated in the media that Ramaphosa is likely to lift the ban on international travel tonight.
All indications are that South Africa will soon move to level 1 of the state of restraint, which may include the lifting of the curfew and the reinstatement of international travel.
Ramaphosa hinted last week that level 1 of the restriction could be imminent this week.
According to Mkhize, less than 3,000 new coronavirus infections per day have been reported in South Africa since 22 August. In contrast, between 10,000 and 15,000 new cases were reported during the peak in July.
Meanwhile, Angie Motshekga, Minister of Basic Education, published new guidelines in the Government Gazette on Tuesday.
