Ace Magashule, secretary-general of the ANC, appeared in court in Bloemfontein today after the Hawks issued a warrant for his arrest in connection with corruption earlier this week.
The magistrate wanted to know why Magashule is treated differently and not handcuffed.
The prosecutor said there was an undertaking between the state and defense, therefore he was not handcuffed.
Magashule was released on R200 000 bail.
The case will be transferred to the Free State High Court on 19 February 2021.
Magashule is facing eight charges of fraud, five of corruption, and eight of money laundering. So there are 21 charges against him. Further charges could be added, also against the other seven accused.
