Ace Magashule, secretary-general of the ANC, remains in office and will not step aside, even though he is accused in a court case of extensive involvement in corruption.

Magashule’s offer to appear before the ANC’s so-called integrity commission was accepted by the ruling party’s national executive committee (NEC).

Ace Magashule, secretary-general of the ANC, must provide reasons before the party’s integrity commission on Saturday as to why he should not be relieved of his post until the charges of corruption, fraud, and money laundering against him have been settled.

On behalf of the NEC, Ramaphosa called on all ANC members to support Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo and his work, to cooperate and not “attack Zondo and the commission” unnecessarily.

Zuma and former president Thabo Mbeki also attended the virtual NEC meeting.
