President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed South Africans on Tuesday.

Ramaphosa says the virus has been in the country for months now and he knows that many people are tired of it, but that the virus is still severe.

According to Ramaphosa, the virus has so far had a major impact on the health of our people.

He says more than 92% of South Africa’s cases have healed.

“This is phenomenal.”

However, he says more than 20,000 people have died and although our death rate is lower than that of many other countries, the loss remains large of those who have died.

He says the government’s goal has always been to save people’s lives and livelihoods.¬†According to him, this should remain the most important thing.

Ramaphosa says the national disaster state will also be extended until December 15.
