Ramaphosa says 2020 was an extremely difficult year, but there is hope for 2021. “We are determined to overcome the coronavirus pandemic, to rebuild the economy, and to create jobs.”

The NEC is committed to responding to the problems. Some of their plans will be announced at the January 8 rally.

“We can only tackle the problems if we are united and enjoy the trust of the people of South Africa.

“We can say with confidence that the NEC meeting has created a strong foundation for doing the work it must do,” Ramaphosa says unity is essential if the ANC is to lead the radical transformation of society and the economy.

He says citizens have enormous confidence in the ANC. The results of the recent by-elections show this.

Ramaphosa says it has been agreed that a major task lies ahead in rebuilding the economy following the devastation of Covid-19.

“Today we received the good news that the economy performed much stronger than expected in the third quarter.”

According to him, the NEC took note of the progress made with the economic recovery plan and especially the many aspects of the plan that are currently being implemented.
